PhD Research Fellowship in Acoustics/Signal Processing at University of Oslo in Norway, 2017

INTRODUCTION

A position as PhD Research fellow is available at CIUS - Centre for Innovative Ultrasound Solutions in Norway. The fellowship will be for a period of 3 years. Starting date no later than 31.12.2016. Norwegian and foreign applicants can apply for this fellowship. University offers a number of general and subject-specific funding schemes. The University of Oslo is the oldest, largest and most prestigious university in Norway, located in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. UiO attracts students and researchers from all over the world. A good command of English is required of all students attending the University of Oslo. International students; PhD research fellows and postdoctoral research fellows who are not native speakers of English, must document their proficiency in English.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Fellowship is available for pursuing PhD research programme. . Applicants must hold a Masters degree or equivalent in ultrasound imaging, acoustics, physics, or signal processing and should have good analytical and programming skills. For this project, we will use our own programmable research ultrasound scanner as well as commercial equipment from corporate partners in the project. Besides technical skills, we are looking for a curious, ambitious candidate who is highly motivated to do research and contribute to the work done at our group. Good communication skills in both oral and written English are expected. We strongly encourage that the application is accompanied by a short cover letter explaining briefly how the applicants background and education fit the goals and requirements of this project. . Centre for Innovative Ultrasound Solutions for healthcare, maritime, and oil & gas (CIUS) is one of the Norwegian Research Council centres for research-based innovation (SFI). The purpose of the fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree. . The fellowship requires admission to the PhD programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The application to the PhD programme must be submitted to the department no later than two months after taking up the position.
